DVD on the spectacular reenactment of the "Sauer river crossing"
The following text is the detailed narrative of the 1944/45-related history
of the "Sauer" valley near Diekirch and more specifically the
Janaury 18-23,
1945 crossing operations. An excellent viewpoint to see the valley and
former battlefield is the top of the "Herrenberg" hill -- in front
of the
parking lot of the Luxembourg army barracks "Caserne Grand-Duc Jean".
The
colored map on the presentation above (click on map to enlarge it), reflects
the tactical situation on January 18, 1945 an ensuing operations.
